This week, our Early Years children were in for a special treat with the Week of the Young Child! This anticipated week is an annual celebration of little learners, early childhood and their teachers.
It’s been an amazing week as the Early Years team worked together and created a variety of play stations for their children to explore.
The little learners from Nursery, Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten enjoyed fun and educational hands-on stations such as reading, music and movement, playdough, painting, patterns, blocks, bubbles and more.
All of the children happily went from station to station; the music and movement station was extremely popular!
The benefits of these activities include developing fine and gross motor skills, social and emotional development, balance and coordination amongst many other things!
The children had a chance to move around, interact with other children, extend fine motor skills, learn new concepts and work on physical, social, emotional and sensory development.
The Early Years’ teachers were pleased to see the youngest members of ISTCI play and run around together and, of course, laughing and giggling at each other.
In taking part in Week of the Young Child also allowed the students to practice patience, self-help skills, memory recall, cognitive development, fine and gross motor skills as well as listening, coordination and social skills.
What fun!
A great big THANK YOU to our EYFS team!
