International School of TCI Swimming Pool is open!
April, 2016. We would like to take this opportunity to announce the completion of the International School swimming pool. We are immensely proud of this new chapter for the school, as it means that the ISTCI will stand out as the only school with a swimming pool. In addition, this is the largest training sized swimming pool on the island! The pool has 4 racing lanes, is 5 feet at max deep and 60 feet in length. There are shower, changing room, shade, seating and toilet facilities as well. Work commenced in March and took approx. six weeks to complete. All students will benefit from the swimming pool as the lessons are part of the International School sporting curriculum. Swimming lessons are currently coordinated with a great deal of excitement from the children and staff. The safety of our children, and everyone using the facility, is our primary concern so the pool is fenced in so that children and the community will not have access to the pool unless under direct supervision. Also of importance is the social integration being provided by International School of the TCI towards the local sporting community. The pool will become the home of aquatic clubs who can offer opportunities to children and adults to learn to swim, swim train or play aquatic sports.Current Head of the school Mrs. Saunders, commented that,
“the ISTCI has a commitment to producing an all-round education and challenging curriculum to our students. This launch will allow us to have a fully operating swimming pool and exciting swimming programme for this term. This facility will also help to deliver water safety messages presented in the classroom in conjunction with relevant pool activity.”
She explained what these facilities mean to the students,
“Being able to use the new ISTCI swimming facilities means we can now grow our sports programme, encourage safe water play and allow the children to thrive with fun swim competitions. Swimming has so many benefits for our students, as well as the obvious physical benefits it also improves their emotional health, increases confidence and offers a sense of achievement.”

We want to help develop the next generation of swimmers.”
"ISTCI would like to thank Waterloo Investment Holdings Limited, TCI Structures for design, Shoreway Construction for building and Carlisle Supplies for donating some of the pool equipment. They are delivering an excellent facility which we should all be proud of and get involved with.
This is now the 4th year in a row that Waterloo Investment Holdings Limited has supported upgrading the International School. It has graciously contributed to the administration building improvements, early years building improvements, the Nursery School and now the brand new pool facility. We offer a huge 'Thank you' to Waterloo Investment Holdings Limited."
