Getting around Turks and Caicos Islands with Grade 4
The National Environmental Centre in the Bight, The National Museum in Grace Bay, Las Brisas, the iguanas in Chalk Sound and Cheshire Hall, those are some of the places that our class has visited over the past weeks.
We really have got around the Turks and Caicos Islands!
We have been studying the beautiful Turks & Caicos Islands and experiencing wonderful adventures on our learning journey. There are many places to visit in our tiny island home. You can ask our parent drivers who have travelled with us on our adventures.
Chalk Sound
Last week, we travelled to one of the most beautiful places in Provo: Chalk Sound. As we entered Chalk Sound, we were mesmerized by the stunning, calm, blue waters.
As one group sketched the picturesque views, the other group went on an adventure to find our famous Rock Iguanas. Afterwards, we had a delicious lunch at Las Brisas.
Cheshire Hall
This week, we went to Cheshire Hall.
We learned about the history of the Stubbs family and their cotton plantation industry and the impact of slavery on the Turks and Caicos Islands.
It was an amazing learning morning.
The children learned about the lives of those who lived on the plantation.
They saw the ruins, a fresh water well, and a cannon, just to name a few.
Further reading on Cheshire Hall.
Have your child tell you about their trips and perhaps visit them again with your “own” personal tour guide of the Turks and Caicos Islands!
