Grade 2 are going to have a wonderful term learning all about the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Term 2 is off to a fantastic start. The children in Grade 1 are back into their routine of learning and playing together. We have been learning so many interesting new concepts.
Who knew learning could be so much fun?
Discovering the Turks and Caicos Islands
We have been learning about the Turks and Caicos Islands in our topic work this term. We have enjoyed making flags and learning about the location of the different islands that make up our beautiful island home that is so rich in history.
Discovering Eric Carle
Our key author this term in Grade 1 is Eric Carle.
Eric Carle is acclaimed and beloved as the creator of brilliantly illustrated and innovatively designed picture books for very young children. His best-known work, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, has eaten its way into the hearts of literally millions of children all over the world and has been translated into 60 languages and sold over 38 million copies.
Since the Caterpillar was published in 1969, Eric Carle has illustrated more than seventy books, many best sellers, most of which he also wrote, and more than 127 million copies of his books have sold around the world.
We have enjoyed reading and sharing so many of his books and reproducing his colourful illustrations through our own interpretation. We love so many of Eric Carle’s books.
