Grade 2 Battle of Hastings

On a cold and cloudy day at the International School TCI Edward ‘Ella’ the Confessor sadly passed away due to old age! This was just the start to what was going to be an epic battle. Armies across the land cheered with delight and began training to take the throne to decide who would be king. William Duke of Nomandy’s army was led by Emilia. Emilia was a ruthless and brutal leader and had trained Knights like ‘Tim the Tyrant’ and ‘Saskia the Slayer’.   Then, there was Harold Godwinson’s army led by Tavare, a hardened warrior with many years of experience and with ‘Josh the hound’ and ‘Bryeon the Brave’ by his side was who everyone thought would win. The Armies marched to show strength and bravery with Emi the Duke of Normandy sailing across the Channel before arriving at Hastings. Crowds gathered, (Mrs Hinks and Lisa French) and the two armies aligned coming face to face with each other…. The battle raged for hours with warriors fleeing in all directions. Tim the Tyrant was at his devastating worst, responsible for the damage of many weapons. Emi Duke of Normandy’s army began to run and Harold ‘Tavare’ Godwinsons’ army sensing victory, relaxed and followed them. But this was a trick and Emi the Duke of Normandy known for her tactical awareness and brutality turned her army around and attacked! With Archers at the rear Emi Duke of Normandy ordered them to fire! An arrow hit Harold ‘Tavare’ Godwinson in the eye. His army gathered around him to see if there was any hope! But, there was not. Harold ‘Tavare’ Godwinson had died in Battle. Emi Duke of Normandy and her men had no remorse, they cheered and celebrated the end of the Battle. Although not historically correct the Armies then formed an allegiance and Emi the Duke of Normandy became known as William ‘Emi’ the Conqueror. She knew other armies would try to attack so she ordered ‘sand’ castles to be built to try and protect her new Kingdom. The End
