Laura Adzich, Grade 7, Middle School Coordinator
I am thrilled to be a part of ISTCIs expansion into providing quality education for the middle school years, one in which focuses on ensuring that each child is ready for the future – no matter what that may be.
Canadian by birth, I received my Bachelor of Education with an After Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Alberta over 30 years ago. My passion for teaching and working with young people has never waivered. The first five years of my career focused on working with children facing a variety of learning needs, Grades 1 – 6. It was at that time that I moved into the Middle School years, offering support for LD students, as well as classroom teaching for the Calgary Board of Education. Several years later, I ventured out to “see the world”, travelling extensively. After returning to Canada, I began working for a top private school in Toronto as a Grade 8 teacher, followed by running their outreach campus in Northern Ontario at which all subjects were presented through outdoor education and hands-on sciences.
During this first half of my career, I received my National Lifeguarding Certification, Red Cross Swim Instructor Certification, as well as my Advanced Diving Certification. I cycled the width of America, hiked the Annapurna Circuit, and sailed throughout Georgian Bay extensively. And then…
23 years ago I made the Turks & Caicos Islands my home. I have absolutely loved teaching here, whether that be as part of a team or solo, working with students from a wide range of academic environments with the goal that they may reach their full potential. It is with great pride, now, that I have joined the ISTCI Team to launch their Middle School and make it the best that it can be.
