The following information provides parents and prospective families with an overview of the curriculum content for Literacy and Numeracy in Key Stage 1 which is Grade 1 and Grade 2 (Years 1 and 2).
From time to time this content will see a process of appraisal and update. It is our team goal to inject a creative approach to our curriculum and where possible, integrate themes to enable relevance, inspiration and a meaningful approach.

Key Stage 1 Curriculum – ENGLISH
In Grade 1 everything starts to become a little more formal, as the freedom and play of Reception are replaced with more organised activities. Here are the topics your child will learn in their more structured English lessons.
Key Stage 1 Curriculum – MATHS
During KS1, it’s important for your child to get to grips with maths in a very practical, hands-on way. Working individually, as a class and in groups, they will be investigating, counting, playing number games and using everyday objects to help them solve problems and do simple calculations.
Key Stage 1 Curriculum – SCIENCE
Got a budding little scientist in the family? They will learn to develop their science skills and knowledge in Grade 1 through fun subjects such as plants, everyday objects and animals.
